CFCyprus welcomes Theresa May as Prime Minister

The Conservative Friends of Cyprus wholeheartedly welcomes the Rt Hon Theresa May as Prime Minister and looks forward to working with her and the new government as we continue to meet our organisation’s aims of promoting the values and ideals of the Conservative Party across the UK and work to strengthen the already excellent bond between the Conservative Party and the Republic of Cyprus.

We would like to thank the Rt Hon David Cameron who has served our country for the past six years with distinction and dedication, and during a period where Britain’s relationship with Cyprus and the 300,000 strong British Cypriot community has never been stronger.

We would also like to pay tribute to the sterling work of his government over the past six years, and thank all ministers who have supported the Conservative Friends of Cyprus and its aims – not least former Foreign Secretary the Rt Hon Philip Hammond, Northern Ireland Secretary the Rt Hon Theresa Villiers and Europe Minister the Rt Hon David Lidington. We would like to wish all of them every success with their future endeavours in public life.
