Local Elections 2022

On 5 May 2022 local elections will be held and we are delighted to see numerous councillors of Cypriot heritage and with ties to Cyprus standing for election!

We encourage supporting candidates where you can, and we are often out lending a hand to these hard working candidates. If you would like to find out when we are out campaigning or for details how to assist, please get in touch here.

We are delighted to see CFCyprus Executive Officer Cllr Maria Alexandrou standing for re-election in Winchmore Hill ward, Enfield. Please see a message from Cllr Alexandrou below:

As the first Greek Cypriot female Conservative councillor in Enfield, I am proud to represent such a diverse community. I have been a councillor since 2018 in Winchmore Hill, which is home to a large Cypriot community.

In this May’s local elections, Enfield Southgate Conservatives are fielding the largest number of Cypriot candidates.

A vote for the Conservative party is the ONLY choice. Conservatives will:

1. Rip out the disastrous Low Traffic Neighbourhood schemes (road closures) which have caused traffic chaos and increased emissions
2. Support school streets and bring back school crossing patrols
3. Restore weekly bin collections, double the number of waste enforcement officers plus an additional 100 fly tip CCTV cameras
4. Protect the Green Belt and oppose any building on it and introduce the largest rollout of street tree planting
5. Invest in road safety with more zebra crossings, improve the dire state of the roads and pavements
6. Introduce 500 electric car charge points
7. Install 200 additional CCTV security cameras and introduce 3 additional outreach youth buses

The local Conservatives are the only party that can make positive changes to peoples’ lives.

Vote Conservative for a cleaner, greener and safer Enfield borough – to deliver a Conservative council that listens to you and works for you!
